TRAINING & BREAKING

"When training a horse, you don't break- you create"

These words epitomize Tori's philosophy on training. She truly believes that with every ride you are teaching your horse something, and also knows the value of having a strong relationship with the horses on and off the ground and appreciating each of their indiviudal and unique personalities.

Tori specializies in young horses, whether it means breaking them from scratch and making their first experiences with riding positive and confident, or working on the fundamentals- ensuring that all of the horses coming out of her program are correct, confident and ready to move forward in any discipline. Tori is also an experienced preliminary rider eventer, and is available to compete your horse if desired.

Tori has several stalls available for horses in training at Penmerryl farm, or horses can be shipped in for training as needed. Tori also is happy to come to you, and will travel locally to work with your horse. Tori offers full and partial training options, working with the owners to come up with a customized program that best suits each horse and owner's needs, experience and goals. Tori personally oversees every element of care for the horses in training, from feed and conditioning to consultations with vets and farriers as needed to make sure that each horse has everything they need to be successful. Please contact Tori for more information or to schedule a consultation session to determine what program may be best for you.

As the assistant coach for both the VMI and Washington and Lee Eventing teams, Tori has experience with riders of all levels. From active competitors to those just learning how to ride, Tori remains committed to developing an individual program to ensure that each rider gains confidence in the saddle and achieves their own personal goals, whatever they may be.

Though she specializes in eventing, Tori has experience teaching across the individual phases of the sport- dressage, show jumping and cross country and remains available to riders of all disciplines looking to solidify their fundamentals.

Tori maintains an active competition schedule, and is also available for coaching at shows- from walking courses, warm up assistance or support in the stables, she works hard to make sure that each of her students has a positive competition experience.

Tori is available for individual and group lessons at our own Penmerryl farm or at your facility. She has a number of experienced school horses at all levels to match each rider's needs and also accepts trailer-in riders if you prefer to bring your own. She also is available for clinics for groups over 5. Please contact Tori for more information or to schedule a lesson.

Tori maintains an active sales program, and believes that each horse has the potential to be an amazing partner for the right rider. She is involved in every step of the process and knows and has ridden each horse personally. She is committed to finding the best match possible for each horse in her program. Many of the horses in Tori's program have been started by her, ensuring that they have an accurate and strong foundation that will make them happy and trusting partners.
