ABOUT TORI

Tori grew up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia watching her mother ride and train event horses and riders. At age 11 she competed in her first recognized Horse Trial.  Since then her dream of becoming a top level professional in this sport has become her primary focus. Tori works hard every day to become the best rider and horseman she can be. Growing up she spent every moment possible at the barn, working hard and doing everything from mucking and scrubbing to riding. Tori always had a connection with the “problem horses” and had the opportunity to start working with them from an early age. When Tori was 14 she fell in love with a young horse named Dragonfly “Dragon” who was in training with her mother to be sold. Tori scrapped pennies, cleaned tack, bathed horses and did any other job she could find to pay for the horse who would go on to be her current partner and the namesake of Dragonfly Eventing

After graduating from high school with honors and as a member of the National Honor Society Tori went on to pursue her dream. She spent the summer as a working student for four star eventer Lynn Symansky. That summer was a priceless experience, Tori got a taste for the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to be at the top.

Now, Tori is working to become a professional, competing her own Dragonfly and CCS Boromir as well as a number of client's horses. She continues to learn and develop as a rider, taking every opportunity to ride with some of the country’s top riders such as Lynn Symansky, Kim Severson, Sharon White, Stephen Bradley and Jim Kofford.  She always puts her horses first, tries to stress the importance of good horsemanship and believes in developing her own horses. This year Tori and Dragon plan to break into FEI competitions by debuting in their first CCI* and CIC*. Tori also actively competes in recognized USDF dressage competitions, and will be aiming for her USDF Bronze Medal this year. Tori continues to work hard every day and is grateful for every opportunity and the wonderful horses that pave the road to make her dreams possible!

ANDREW

The most patient man in the world

When Andrew started dating Tori all of those years ago, he had no idea what he was getting himself into by getting into a relationship with a "horse girl". However, he quickly realized how important it was to her and has become one of her biggest supporters and fans. Andrew can often be seen helping around the farm or at horse shows and Tori could not ask for a better partner and friend.

LILLY & DOM

The greeters

Lilly and Dom take their responsibilities at the farm very seriously. When they aren't following Tori around, they mostly focus their efforts on exploring, barking and getting into trouble of various kinds. Sweet and goofy, these two quickly become the favorites of all of those who come and visit Dragonfly Eventing.
